Recently, construction firms undertaking projects have faced an ever rising risk from encountering Un-Exploded Ordnance (UXO) whilst developing sites.
All employers have a responsibility under the HSaW act 1974 and the MHSW regulations 1999 to ensure so far as reasonably practical the health and safety of their employees and that of other persons whom are affected by their work activity and therefore more frequently are requiring at least desktop studies to be carried out to assess the risk from UXO’s on site and take actions to negate and reduce this risk.
Once a risk from UXO’s has been confirmed clients are faced with high fees to provided UXO awareness to their employees and further escalating costs to provide an onsite specialist providing cover whilst ground excavations are taking place.
This is where we at UXO-Services come in, rather than going through a middle man employing sub-contractors and charging you high daily management fee’s for their services.
UXO-Services go direct to the UXO Watching brief specialists, this cuts out of the middle man and can greatly reduce your daily out goings - on longer term projects this can save upwards of tens of thousands of pounds.
All our staff are ex Military and trained by DEODS (Defence Explosive Ordnance Disposal School).
Alongside Their DEODS Training our consultants will hold CSCS Cards as a minimum (usually with SSSTS / SMSTS or both as well). Further more we can supply High Risk Confined space trained personnel if there is a requirement on your site.
